Dr. Ling-Ping Cen, MD, PhD is a researcher at the Joint Shantou International Eye Center (JSIEC) of Shantou University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He completed his PhD at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and received the CUHK Global Scholarship Programme for Research Excellence–CNOOC grant. He completed his medical training at JSIEC and is currently the Head of the Medical Retina/Neuro-ophthalmology Service and Department of Medical Education at JSIEC. Dr. Cen has devoted his efforts to a career in ophthalmological and neurological research for more than 15 years and has been funded by more than 10 national and provincial research grants as a principle investigator. He has been the author of more than 40 publications in international journals, including Nature Communications, PNAS, Ophthalmology, and Stem Cells. His current research interests include optic nerve injury and repair, neuro-ophthalmology, uveitis, retinal imaging, artificial intelligence, and clinical and biological big data.
Dr. Shaoying Tan, MD, PhD is a Chief Physician in the field of Ophthalmology. Currently, she holds the position of Research Assistant Professor at the School of Optometry, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Tan specializes in the treatment of glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmic diseases. Her research focuses on understanding the pathogenesis, clinical features, and therapeutic strategies for autoimmune optic neuropathy and intraocular pressure fluctuation in glaucoma. Dr. Tan has received significant support from various national research grants, showcasing her dedication to advancing knowledge in her field. She also serves as the President of the Youth Committee of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Society of the Chinese Research Hospital Association and is a committee member of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Society of the Chinese Research Hospital Association and the Neuro-Ophthalmology Society of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
