Matteo Ferro is a professor at the Department of Urology, European Institute of Oncology, Milan, Italy. He has been a urologist at the division of urology in the European Institute of Oncology since May 2013. He has worked with prostate cancer biomarkers and coordinates at the University of Naples Federico II, investigating the evaluation of p2Psa and Phi for the detection of prostate cancer at the initial biopsy stage for prostate cancer aggressiveness stratification. He taught translational medicine at the University of Salerno in 2013 (PONa3_00138/F1). He is a member of the Italian Society of Urology, the Italian Society of Urologic Oncology, and the European Association of Urology. He has lectured at more than 70 national and international conferences.
Prof. Dr. Michele Marchioni is an associate professor at the University of G. d'Annunzio Chieti and Pescara. He was honored with a Ph.D. in Biomolecular and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2022. In 2017 he was as a post-doc fellow at Montreal University. He has 189 publications with 2266 citations and an h-index of 25 (Scopus, 25 December 2023). His research interests include prostate cancer, kidney cancer, urologic oncology, robotics and minimally invasive urology, etc.
Luigi Schips graduated form the University “G.D’Annunzio” of Chieti in 1992 with a degree in medicine and surgery and then continued his scientific and training courses in Austria, where he obtained a specialization in Urology in 2001 at the University of Graz. He was appointed an associate professor of Urology at the University of Graz. Back in Italy, in 2007, he was appointed the primary physician of the Urology U.O. of the Hospital “San Pio da Pietrelcina” of Vasto (CH), where he also dealt with the introduction of new surgical techniques, such as laparoscopy, endoscopic laser surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia, PDD fluorescence for urothelial bladder tumors, and the use of Botox for neurologic bladder. After being interim director of the Urological Clinic of Chieti, he currently holds the position of director of the complex structure of urology at ASL 2 Abruzzo (Chieti-Lanciano-Vasto) and is also a full professor of urology at the University of Chieti. Among the main fields of interest of the professor are oncological urology (kidney tumors, the prostate, the bladder), minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopy, single-site LESS, minilaparoscopy, robotics) in the treatment of benign and malignant urological diseases, in addition to the conservative surgical treatment of renal tumors.
