Dr. Mudasir Dar is one of the young scientists in the field of environmental science and microbial-technology. He is working as an associate professor, at Jiangsu University, P.R. China. His major research interest includes a wide range of resource recovery, microbial technology, and bioengineering fields. With more than 15 years of research experience on gut-microbiome analyses in insects, snails, and termites, he harnesses high-throughput sequencing technologies to better understand the host–microbial interactions towards lignocellulolytic systems. He has received the Foreign Outstanding Young Scientist grant and a Postdoctoral Fund from the National Natural Science of Foundation (NSFC) and China Postdoctoral Organization, China, respectively. He is also recognized as a Foreign Expert Scientist by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) of the People’s Republic of China and received a foundation grant of ¥200000.00. He is currently working on biofuel production from lignocellulosic waste by using gut bacteria of Lignocellulose-feeding pest insects, such as termites, beetles, caterpillars, etc. He is serving as an editorial board member of BMC Microbiology (Springer Nature), Engineering Microbiology (Elsevier), Frontiers in Energy Research, to name a few. He is also an active regular reviewer of many esteemed international journals published by Nature, Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, RSC, Frontiers, and others. He has several national and international awards to his credit.
