Savino Sciascia is a Full Professor and Consultant in Nephrology in the Department of Clinical and Biological Sciences, University of Turin, Turin, Italy. He received a PhD in Complex Systems for Life Sciences at the University of Torino, Italy. He is the author or co-author of over 250 scientific publications. His research mainly focuses on autoimmunity.
Simone Baldovino is an Assistant
Professor of Clinical Pathology in the Department of Clinical and Biological
Sciences, University of Turin. He also leads the Coordinating Center of the
Network for Rare Diseases of Piedmont and Aosta Valley at San Giovanni Bosco
Hospital, Turin, Italy. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the
University of Turin in 2001 and completed a specialization in clinical
pathology at the University of Turin in 2006. Since November 2005, he has been a
researcher in Clinical Pathology first in the Department of Experimental
Medicine and Oncology and subsequently in the Department of Clinical and
Biological Sciences of the University of Turin. Since 2013, he has been a member
of the Research Commission of the department. Since 2018, he has been director
of the Master in Rare Diseases at the University of Turin. His research
interests include epidemiological and pharmacoeconomic issues concerning rare
diseases, immune-mediated diseases, and pathologies associated with
extracellular protein accumulation with a special focus on amyloidosis.
Dario Roccatello is a Full Professor of Clinical Pathology
at the University of Turin and Director of the Center of Research on
Immunopathology and Rare Diseases (CMID), San Giovanni Bosco Hospital, Turin.
He is also a Director of the Interregional Coordination Center of Rare Diseases
for Piedmont and Aosta Valley and Director of the 2nd level 2-year Master on
Rare Diseases at Turin Medical School. He specialized in nephrology and nuclear
medicine and is presently interested in molecular medicine, specifically in the
field of Realtime PCR. He has been a visiting fellow at the Royal Adelaide
Hospital, Adelaide (Australia). He led a Research Collaboration with the Pathology
Department at Brown University of Providence, Rhode Island, USA, was a Visiting
Investigator in the Department of Immunology and Allergic Diseases, National
Institute of Health, Bethesda, USA and Attaché Associé Scientifique at the
Centre Hospitalier Régional Universitaire of Grenoble (France). He has authored
400 scientific articles, 118 of which were published in peer-reviewed
International Journals, in the fields of nephrology, clinical immunology and
laboratory medicine.
