Jiro Fujimoto is a Professor of Surgery and Emeritus Professor at Hyogo College of Medicine. He is a Board Certified Surgeon of the Japanese Surgical Society and Board Certified Supervisor Surgeon of the Japanese Surgical Society. He was a Surgical Resident at Hyogo College of Medicine Hospital and a Clinical Fellow in Surgery at Kawasaki Hospital in 1987. In 1992, he was a Research Fellow in Medicine at the Molecular Hepatology Laboratory, Cancer Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. In 2000, he became Professor and Chairman at the Department of Surgery, Hyogo College of Medicine. In 2016, he was Vice President at Hyogo College of Medicine. In 2021, he was Director of the Osaka Heavy-Ion Therapy Center. He specializes in multidisciplinary therapy for cancer, including surgery, heavy-ion therapy, chemotherapy and surgery for hepatobiliary-pancreatic cancers.
