Dr. Carlo Salati graduated from Medicine and Surgery at the University of Udine in 1992 with the highest marks. Starting in August 2000, he started the vitreo-retinal surgery service at the Operational Unit of
the Palmanova Ophthalmology Division, attending and holding numerous surgery
courses in the front and back segments. In October 2000, he started a
collaboration on the surgical activity of the front segment at the Hospital of
Latisana (Udine). He collaborated with the Janach company for the production of
irons and surgical equipment, in particular for the realization of surgical
instruments used for cataracts. In February 2002, he collaborated with the
Day-Surgery of the Hospital of Tolmezzo and Gemona, performing cataract
surgeries. He is responsible for the surgical retinal clinic of the SOC of
Ophthalmology of the university hospital in Udine. Expert surgeon of the front
and posterior segment with more than 12,000 surgeries carried out, he also
gained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of the retinopathies of the
premature by laser collaboration with the neonatal SOC of the same company.
Author of more than 100 publications in national and international journals, he
has been invited several times by the Italian Ophthalmological Society (SOI) to
perform surgical interventions as a teacher of various sessions.
