Antía Fdez-Sanromán holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's degree in Chemical Research and Industrial Chemistry from the University of Vigo. Currently, she is an FPI (Formación de Personal Investigador) predoctoral student in the BIOSUV group at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Vigo. Currently in the third year of her doctoral thesis, Antía Fernández-Sanromán is concentrating her research on the innovative treatment of hospital wastewater. To accomplish her goals, Antía Fernández-Sanromán is engaged in the synthesis of a range of catalysts and adsorbents designed for the efficient removal of pharmaceuticals and pathogens using various advanced oxidation processes. Her active participation in the European PhD program focused on AOPs further reinforces her strong commitment to advancing research in this field.
Dr. Marta Pazos is an Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universidade de Vigo and belongs to the Bioengineering and Sustainable Processes Group. She received her Ph.D. from Universidade de Vigo in 2007. Her research has been published in more than 200 communications to national and international conferences. Her research career has focused on the area of Environmental Technology.
Dr. Emilio Rosales is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universidade de Vigo. He received his Master’s degree in 2007 and received his Ph.D. degree in 2011 from Universidade de Vigo. His research focuses on the application of sustainable strategies to improve environmental quality, which combines efficiency and economy in the pursuit of sustainability. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Real Sociedad Espanola de Quimica, and the International Forum on Industrial Bioprocesses.
Prof. Dr. Angeles Sanromán is a Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and the head of the Research Group Bioengineering and Sustainable Processes (BIOSUV Group) at the Universidade de Vigo. She has authored more than 350 scientific articles, and 84.5% of all her publications are in the top 25% journals according to CiteScore (Elsevier). The impact of her research is also reflected in the number of international collaborations she has, with 41% of the articles being co-authored by researchers from other countries/regions. For this reason, she is considered in several rankings as one of the top 2% scientists worldwide 2023 by Stanford University. Currently, she has been developing the following research lines: i) Environmental Technology applied to soil and water remediation; ii) Advanced Oxidation Processes; iii) Reuse, Recycling & Valorization of Wastes; iv) Green Chemistry.
