Author Biographies

Prof. Dr. Petja Emilova Marinova is an Associate Professor at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry with Methodology of Chemistry Education in the Faculty of Chemistry. She graduated from the University of Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov-Burgas majoring in Chemistry with professional qualifications in chemistry and chemistry teacher in 2001. In 2005, she was appointed as an Assistant at Paisiy Hilendarski PU, a Senior Assistant in 2007, Assistant Professor in 2010, Doctor in 2011, and Associate Professor in 2015. She is the head and a member of three national contracts at the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Education and Culture, and a member of one international project. Her research interests relate to the study of the complex-forming ability of many biologically active organic ligands with ions of transition metals, isolation of the obtained metal complexes in pure form, and subsequent characterization, with a view to their future investigation of cytotoxic and antimicrobial action and finding a potential practical application in the field of medicine, agricultural science, and practice.
