Prof. Supriya G. Prasanth is the Head of Cell and Developmental Biology at UIUC’s School of Molecular and Cellular Biology, and she teaches the cancer cell biology course. She received her MS in Genetics from the University of Delhi and her PhD in Molecular Genetics and Life Sciences from the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, India. She was a Special fellow for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York in the laboratory of Prof. Bruce Stillman, where she worked on the role of human replication initiators in cell cycle progression and chromatin organization. Her major research interests lie in the investigation of chromatin structure, gene regulation, genome duplication, and stability. She is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Career Award and the UIUC University Scholar Award.
