Agnieszka Miśkiewicz, PhD, works at the Center for Radiochemistry
and Nuclear Chemistry, at the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology,
where she is the Deputy Head of the Centre. She deals with issues related to
environmental protection, in particular the management of radioactive
waste. Her research works focus on the use of membrane processes in the
processing of radioactive waste as well as the treatment of water and
industrial wastewater. She led the NCN Sonata 6 project concerning the use of
radioactive tracers to study membrane processes. She also participated in the
implementation of a number of national and international projects in the field
of environmental protection and nuclear energy.
Grażyna
Zakrzewska-Kołtuniewicz is an accomplished researcher, holding the positions of
professor and head of the Department of Radiochemistry and Nuclear Chemistry at
the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (INCT). She is a co-founder
and former president of WIN Poland, an organization established in 2013.
Additionally, she serves as vice-chair of the Polish Nuclear Society and as a
representative of the Ministry of Climate and Environment in the RWMC-NEA-OECD.
Andrzej G. Chmielewski is a Professor
and the Director General of the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology
in Warsaw, Poland. He earned his MSc, PhD, and DSc from the Warsaw University
of Technology. He also completed his postdoctoral research at the University of
Tennessee Knoxville, USA from 1976 to 1977, and worked as the Technical Officer
at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria from 2003 to 2005.
He has served as a professor at the Warsaw University of Technology from 1968
to 1983 and 2002 to 2013, and is a member of the Polish Nuclear Society.
Chmielewski shared as an IAEA staff member Nobel Peace Prize in 2005, “for
their efforts to prevent nuclear energy from being used for military purposes
and to ensure that nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is used in the safest
possible way”. He also received the “Lifetime Award for Science” from the iiA in
2013 and the IAEA Team Merit Award in 2005. Additionally, he has been honored
with state orders, including the Golden Cross of Merit, the Chevalier and
Officer Crosses of Poland, Polonia Restituta, and the Commander of the
Order of Academic Palms in France.
