Dr. Arun-Kumar Kaliya-Perumal is an Indian Orthopedic Surgeon with International Fellowship Training in Advanced Spine Surgery. He graduated with an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) in 2009 and completed his Orthopedic Residency in 2012. From 2012 to 2017, he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, where he was later promoted to Clinical Associate Professor. During this time, he developed a profound interest in spine surgery and pursued clinical fellowships at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan (2016–2017) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore (2018–2019). Currently affiliated with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Dr. Kaliya-Perumal is motivated by the evolving landscape of basic biomedical sciences and aspires to combine his orthopedic expertise with cutting-edge basic research to elevate patient care to a higher level. He is a member of AO Spine, Indian Orthopaedic Association, Association of Spine Surgeons of India, Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association, and the International Zebrafish Society.
Dr. Jacob Yoong-Leong Oh is a Singapore-trained Orthopedic Surgeon with International Fellowship Training in Complex Spine Surgery. He serves as a Senior Consultant and Deputy Head at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. He is also the Chief of the Spine Service and Director/Founder of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Spine Centre. Dr. Oh specializes in comprehensive spinal surgery, focusing on minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS), adult spinal deformity (scoliosis), spinal navigation, and robotics. With over 10 years of MIS experience, he conducts global training courses for spine surgeons and serves on the global advisory board as a key opinion leader for the OLIF procedure (lateral access spine fusion). Additionally, Dr. Oh contributes to the spine community by serving on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Spine Society (2018–present) and as the Country Lead for Singapore in AO Spine since 2019. He is a member of various prestigious organizations, including the Asia-Pacific Spine Society (APSS), North American Spine Society (NASS), Society for Lateral Access Surgery (SOLAS), ASEAN MISST, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS). Dr. Oh has been appointed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Singapore Medical Council (SMC) to participate in work groups aimed at enhancing patient care, highlighting his recognized expertise in spine surgery.
