Dr. Andriani Charpidou works at the Third Department of Internal Medicine, Sotiria Hospital, School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Athens, Greece. Dr. Charpidou is the guest editor of the MDPI special issue “Advances in Cancer Immunotherapy: New Insights, Novel Checkpoints.” Dr. Charpidou’s research interests mainly focus on cancer, lung cancer, treatment, immunotherapy, and vaccines. Dr. Charpidou’s scientific output includes 68 publications in various journals, with an h-index of 15 (Scopus, January 2024).
Prof. Dr. Konstantinos N. Syrigos is a professor at Athens Medical School, University of Athens. He graduated from the Athens School of Medicine in 1988. He trained in internal medicine at Laikon University Hospital (Athens University) and medical oncology at Hammersmith Hospital (London University). He completed his MD thesis with distinction at the Athens School of Medicine in 1995, and his Ph.D. thesis at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London University, in 2000. He worked as a senior registrar in medical oncology at Hammersmith and St Bartholomew’s hospitals in London and as a consultant at Sotiria General Hospital in Athens. In 2002, he was appointed associate professor of oncology in medicine and head of the Sotiria Oncology Unit. Since 2006, he has also been a visiting professor of thoracic oncology at Yale University, CT, USA. His main fields of interest are targeted therapies, drug development, and thoracic, head, and neck oncology.
