Dr. Gang Liu graduated from China Medical University with a D.M.D. degree in 1994 and from Wuhan University with a Ph.D. degree in 1999. He received postdoctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia and the University of Alabama at Birmingham throughout 2003. He worked as a research associate from 2003 to 2006 in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is currently a professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine, the Department of Medicine, the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His research interests are focused on the study of non-coding RNAs; lung inflammation; and cellular metabolism.
