Author Biographies

Dr. Leticia Cedillo-Barrón is a Bacteriologist and Parasitologist, specialising in Virology and Immunology. She obtained a Master's and a PhD in Immunology carrying out research on Malaria and lecturing at the National School of Biological Sciences (ENCB-IPN). She then joined the team of Professor Michael Parkhouse at the Institute for Animal Health in Pirbright (UK), after first obtaining a fellowship from the Wellcome foundation for two years. She then received her training in Virology and Molecular Biology with the exotic viruses FMDV and ASF. Afterwards, she was hired by the European Community at the same institution for 4 years where she was involved in the evaluation of different targets of protective immunogens for the elaboration of potential recombinant vaccines. Currently, she is working at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVEST InstitutAV).

Moises Leon-Juarez is a Professor at the Instituto Nacional de Perinatología (INPER), Mexico City, Mexico. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biomedicine from CINVESTAV (the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute) in 2013. His work is focused on experimental virology, generating related projects in the field of perinatal virology. His research group is also interested in improving the molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases of perinatal and neonatal importance.
