Dr. Varun Jaiswal is a researcher of Indian origin working in the area of computational biology, which spans from medical informatics to artificial intelligence and genomics of hosts and pathogens. He is presently working as Assistant Professor at Gachon University, South Korea. He is an alumnus of JNU, New Delhi, and served as Assistant Director at the National Centre of Disease Control (NCDC), New Delhi. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a key role in the development of initial testing, training, and genome sequencing facilities at the NCDC to combat COVID-19 in India. He has expertise in dry- and wet-lab experiments and administration. He has applied machine learning methods in diverse fields which include biology, chemistry, medicine, computer science, and social science.
Prof. Dr. Hae-Jeung Lee received her M.Sc. in Food and Nutrition from Seoul National University in 1998 and her Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition from Seoul National University in 2003. Currently, she is working as a Full Professor and Head Director of the Institute for Aging and Clinical Nutrition Research at Gachon University. Her research interests are in evaluating relationships between dietary factors or natural food ingredients and chronic diseases using epidemiological and animal models, and clinical studies.
