Khaled AlKattan is the Vice President
(Administration & Finance) and the Dean of the College of Medicine at
Alfaisal University. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in medicine from King
Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh in 1984. Since 2008, he has been a senior
consultant in thoracic surgery and lung transplant at King Faisal Specialist
Hospital and Research Center. He is a strong educational professional with FRCS
from Edinburgh with a gold medal in 1988. He is skilled in Management,
Medicine, Science, University Teaching, and Lung Transplant. He is the Chairman
of the National Lung Cancer Study Group and the national lung transplant
program. He has contributed extensive work in medical education and is a board
member of its Saudi society. He has also contributed to public health education
and the establishment of several charity medical associations.
Dr. Ahmed Yaqinuddin obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Baqai Medical College, University of Karachi, Pakistan, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Sciences from Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. He is a Professor of Anatomy and cell biology in the College of Medicine at Alfaisal University. He is the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research as well as the Chair of Graduate Programs at Alfaisal University. He served as a Chair of the Department of Medical Education at Alfaisal University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh. His research interests are the role of epigenetic mechanisms in the development and progression of cancers and the utility of epigenetic markers (DNA methylation and miRNAs) to detect and prognosticate cancers.
