Rosana Badía Laíño has been an associate professor in the Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Oviedo since December 2008. Previously, she held positions as a contracted doctor professor and temporary associate professor. She earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry, specializing in analytical chemistry, from the University of La Plata (Argentina). Later, she received a scholarship from the Spanish International Cooperation Agency to pursue her doctoral studies in Oviedo, where she completed her Ph.D. thesis in 1997. Since 2012, she has led the Molecular Recognition group (RECOMOL) at the University of Oviedo. Her research is focused on analytical chemistry, particularly in the use of luminescent and chemiluminescent methodologies, as well as in the development of recognition phases such as nanomaterials, molecularly imprinted polymers, and microvesicles for optical sensors. She is the author and co-author of over 65 publications in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports. Sixty-seven percent of these publications are in the first quartile, with 11 of them, within the first decile of their respective fields. She has presented more than 80 contributions at international conferences.
Prof. José M. Costa-Fernández is a full professor of analytical chemistry in the Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry at Oviedo University (Spain) and coordinator of the Analytical and Bioanalytical Spectroscopy research group. He received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry in December 1998. From 1999 to 2000, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Indiana (USA). To date, he has supervised 16 Ph.D. theses, is a coauthor or more than 160 scientific papers, and has presented more than 30 plenary or invited lectures at prestigious scientific conferences over the last 10 years. He was Vice Dean of Chemistry in the School of Chemistry at the University of Oviedo from October 2008 until October 2016, a member of the Government Board of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (2018-2021), and Vice President of the Spanish Society for Applied Spectroscopy (2009–2021). Currently, he is the Coordinator of the International Master in Analytical and Bioanalytical Sciences of the University of Oviedo, a member of the Government Board of the specialized group in analytical sciences and technologies of the RSEQ, a member of the Editorial Board of Spectrochimica Acta Part B (Elsevier), a section editor of the Journal Anales de Quimica of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry, and a member of the International Advisory Board of Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry (Elsevier).
Dr. Ana Soldado received her Ph.D. in chemical sciences from the University of Oviedo (2000). She was an associate professor in the Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Oviedo in the 2000–2001 academic year. In 2001, she was hired by SERIDA as a graduate for the development of analytical methodologies for food quality control. Subsequently, in 2004, the National Agency for Assessment and Prospects (ANEP) positively evaluated the quality of her research and awarded her an INIA-CCAA Ph.D. contract. After four years of the contract, she requested through the National Institute of Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA) the evaluation of her research excellence as I3, obtaining a positive assessment of said research excellence on 7 September 2009. She is a co-author of more than 20 scientific articles included in the Science Citation Index, having presented numerous communications at national and international conferences and popular articles in national magazines, conferences, and courses among other activities.
