Prof. Dr. Zong Ming Song is
Professor of ophthalmology and optometry at Wenzhou Medical College, Adjunct
Professor at State University of New York, and Vice Director of the Surgical Retina
Department, Affiliated Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College. He is also an
editorial member of the Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases and a reviewer
for Retina. Dr. Song received his Ph.D. from the Fourth Military Medical
University, China, in 2001. He specializes in 23/25-gauge minimally invasive
vitrectomy for complicated retinal detachment, ocular trauma, diabetic
retinopathy, and other vitreoretinal diseases. He has more than 4000 outpatients
and annually performs more than 800 operations. He has published over 50
academic papers in top international and Chinese journals such as
Ophthalmology, Retina, etc. Dr. Song participated in the translation of the book
Retina and has given more than 40 academic lectures at international and
domestic ophthalmologic annual conferences. He also provides annual
micro-incision vitrectomy surgery training for retinal surgeons nationwide
since 2008.
