Laurentiu Fara has comprehensive experience in optimization modeling and simulation of advanced solar cells and BIPV systems, as well as in training and dissemination of renewable energy systems. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Bucharest, Romania. He has worked as a full professor at the Physics Department, Faculty of Applied Sciences, National University of Science and Technology, Politehnica Bucharest, since 1996. He has been the Chairman of the Renewable Energy Commission of the Romanian Academy since 2012. He has coordinated over 30 national and international projects. He has published over 300 articles in international journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of specialized international scientific organizations dedicated to renewable energy and related topics, a member of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), and a member of the European Physical Society (EPS).
