Dr. João Queirós Coelho obtained his M.D. from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS), University of Porto, in 2018. He has been an External mobility teacher of “Semiology and Pathophysiology” at Oporto University, ICBAS—School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and a Trainer of the curricular unit “Toxicity of Systemic Treatments” of the Post-University Advanced Training Course in Oncology of Portuguese League Against Cancer. He is currently in residency training in Medical Oncology at the Unidade Local de Saúde de Santo António, Porto, Portugal. He won second place in the Silva Araújo Award with the research “Association between childhood atopic dermatitis and hyperactivity/attention deficit disorder” in 2019. He has completed over 13 publications, including scientific articles, conference presentations and conference posters.
Dr. Maria João De Sousa is a Medical Oncologist at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Santo António. She also works as an Invited Teacher of Oncology at the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS). She obtained a Master's in Medicine at the Universidade de Lisboa and a Master's in Palliative Care at the Universidade de Coimbra.
Dr. Sérgio Xavier Azevedo, MD, MSc, is a Medical Oncologist at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Santo António. He is also a Professor of Oncology at ICBAS School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He is a Ph.D. Student in the Doctoral Program in Molecular Medicine and Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto with a Master´s Degree in Medicine.
Prof. Dr. António Araújo is the Head of the Department of Medical Oncology at the Unidade Local de Saúde de Santo António and a Full Professor at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences—ICBAS and at the Dental Medical Faculty, University of Porto. Since January 2023, he has been Head of the Integrated Master Degree in Medicine at School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences—ICBAS, University of Porto. He has been a member of the Portuguese National Council for Oncology since 2013 and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Portuguese National Cancer Registry since 2019. He was a member of the International Association for Study of Lung Cancer Ethics Committee for the term 2015–2019, and has been a member of its Educational Committee since 2019. He is a founding member of REDICAP—Red IberoAmericana de Cancer de Pulmón, founded on 12 February 2021, which includes oncologic researchers from Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Portugal. He was the President
of the Executive Board of the Northern Regional Council of the Portuguese Medical Association from 2017 to 2022. He is a full member of ESMO, ASCO, IASLC, Portuguese Society of Oncology and Portuguese Society of Pulmonology. In 2022, he was distinguished with the Municipal Medal of Merit—Gold Grade by the city of Porto for his work for the city, and in 2023 he was awarded with the Distinction of
Merit Ricardo Jorge by the city of Porto for his contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
