Ben Z Katz has been a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Northwestern University Medical School, since 2005. He was an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Northwestern University Medical School, from 1996 to 2005. His primary research interest is the pathophysiology of viral infections in immunocompromised vs. normal hosts. The main virus with which he has worked is Epstein-Barr virus. He is currently performing NIH-funded research on post-EBV (chronic) fatigue syndrome and so-called "long haul" COVID.
