Dr. Marta Dominika Włodarczyk is currently
affiliated with the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacogenomics, Faculty of
Pharmacy, Medical University of Warsaw. From 2005 to 2015, she served as an
assistant at the Department of Nutrigenomics, National Food and Nutrition
Institute. Her research interests are focused on the study of obesity; uterine
fibroids; adipokines; ovarian dysfunction; and biochemistry.
Michał Ciebiera received his degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences with distinction from Uniwersytet Medyczny w Lublinie in 2011. He is a professor at the Second Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education, Warsaw, Poland. His research interests mainly focus
on prenatal examinations, uterine fibroids, gynecological and pregnancy ultrasound, pregnancy management, gynecology, gynecological endocrinology, and infertility diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Grażyna Nowicka has been a professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacogenomics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Warsaw, since 2011. She is also the head of the department and the head of the division. From 1978 to 2011, she served at the National Institute of Food and Nutrition. Her research interests are focused on the study of non-communicable and diet-related diseases, including obesity and obesity-related disorders: pathogenesis; genetic–environmental factor interactions; risk assessment; prevention and treatment; human nutrition; nutritional biochemistry; and nutrigenomics.
Mohamed Ali was granted a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 2009. He got his masters in 2014 with research focused on clinical research. In 2016, he started his Ph.D. in clinical and translational
research at Dr. Ayman Al-Hendy's research lab at Augusta University and the University of Illinois in Chicago. He defended his Ph.D. in early 2021 in pharmaceutical sciences, a clinical pharmacy specialty, and worked as a lecturer in the Clinical Pharmacy Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University. Dr. Ali joined the OB/GYN department at the University of Chicago as a staff scientist in 2022. So far, he has published 72 research articles, all in international peer-reviewed journals, and two book chapters, and he has presented 49 abstracts at over 15 international conferences. He has a provisional patent and serves as an associate editor for three journals as well as a peer reviewer for over 30
international journals. In 2017, he received the most popular review article award from the Biology of Reproduction journal, the official journal of the Society for the Study of Reproduction. In 2021, he received the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) 2021 Corporate Member Council In-Training Award for his scientific merit and credentials. In 2022, he received the paper prize for the Fibroid Special
Interest Group (FIBSig) from ASRM as well as a research grant from the Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders (SEUD).
Ayman Al-Hendy is currently a professor (tenure) and vice chair (research) at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as an advisor to the Dean of Medicine, Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Chicago (UC). Al-Hendy is a gynecologist and endoscopic surgeon at UC Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, with a busy practice that focuses on serving women with symptomatic uterine fibroids and premature ovarian insufficiency. Al-Hendy is double board-certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Al-Hendy’s medical research interests focus on developing novel therapies, including gene and stem cell therapy for premature ovarian insufficiency, endometriosis, and particularly uterine fibroids. Al-Hendy has published more than 255 peer-reviewed publications in high-tier peer-reviewed scientific journals, more than 360 presentations in national and international meetings, and has edited five medical books. Al-Hendy has also been elected as the 71st President of the Society for Reproductive Investigation.
