Dr. Nyein Wint Yee Theik graduated from University of Medicine (2), Yangon, Myanmar. She is currently in her internal medicine residency at Memorial Healthcare System.
Dr. Meri Muminovic attended medical school at the American
University of the Caribbean and completed her internal medicine residency in
June 2021 at the Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. She joined the Memorial
Healthcare System in July 2021 as a Hematology–Oncology fellow and is a
third-year chief fellow. She has an interest in lung cancer. Now, she is an
oncologist in Hollywood, Florida and is affiliated with Memorial Regional
Hospital.
Dr. Andres M. Alvarez-Pinzon, a physician–scientist with over 20 years of experience, specializes in cancer neuroscience and immunology. He designs and conducts clinical trials for pediatric and adult populations, with expertise in clinical oncology, neurosurgery–oncology, radiosurgery, genetics, health research and policy, and biobanking. Currently, as the Medical Director of Adult and Pediatric Oncology Clinical Research at Memorial Healthcare System, he leads collaborative projects to improve patient outcomes, addressing disparities in cancer care, bioethics, and outcomes research. Additionally, he holds positions as a Clinical Research Associate Professor at Florida Atlantic University and a Board Member of the Memorial Cancer Institute Florida Atlantic University Cancer Center of Excellence.
Dr. Atif Hussein is a hematologist and oncologist at Memorial Cancer Institute, specializing in treating patients with different types of cancer including but not limited to sarcomas, malignant melanomas, and brain cancers. He received his MD in Medicine from the American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon in 1983. He also holds numerous leadership positions at Memorial Healthcare System, including program director for the 15-fellow Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, medical director for Oncology Cancer Research at MCI, and chair of Memorial Healthcare System’s Cancer Committee and Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee. He is also a clinical affiliate professor at Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida International University Wertheim School of Medicine, and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He has obtained certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine-Hematology, the American Board of Internal Medicine-Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine-Medical Oncology.
Luis E Raez, MD, FACP, FCCP, is the Medical Director of the Memorial Cancer Institute (MCI). He is also the Oncology Research Director at the Memorial Health Care System (MHS); the Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program and the Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Florida International University (FIU); and the Visiting Professor of Medicine at Cayetano Heredia University in Peru. He designs phase I–III clinical trials with new chemotherapeutic agents and combinations. He conducts translational research in the areas of cancer vaccines and has been funded by NCI and the pharma industry. He has given oral presentations and lectures in national and international meetings in the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. He is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Geriatric Medicine. He is board-eligible in Hematology. He is also a member of AACR, ESMO, ASCO, IASLC, ALLIANCE, NCCTG, ACCP, ACP, ACSG, and FLASCO, among other institutions.
