Author Biographies

James Dahlgreen works for the UK NGO, Homeland Conservation, a charity focused on accelerating action to minimise global warming. James is a Programme Director for SRI-2030, an initiative to reduce the climate impact of rice through a transition to more sustainable cultivation methods. James has a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford (2017-2020), and a Master's from UCL University of London in climate change science (2021-2022). James’ work with SRI-2030 spans both the policy and technical sides of agriculture and climate change. James previously worked at ag-tech start-up, Downforce Technologies, on soil carbon modelling and remote sensing. James’ academic research interests span earth sciences and agriculture, with a focus on the quantification and modelling of regenerative agricultural practices.
Dr. Adam Parr is an Anglo-French barrister, businessman and academic based in Oxford. He is a former chairman and chief executive of the Williams Formula One team. Adam co-founded and chairs Oxford Semantic Technologies Limited, an AI spin-out of the University of Oxford. In 2020, Adam set up Homeland Conservation, a UK charity dedicated to accelerating the carbon drawdown, focusing on the agricultural sector. Adam is a Business Fellow and DPhil Candidate at the Smith School for Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford and a Research Associate at Hertford College, Oxford. Adam is the author of two books about Formula One: The Art of War – Five Years in Formula One; and co-author, with Ross Brawn, of Total Competition – Lessons in Strategy from Formula One. His academic study, The Mandate of Heaven — Strategy, Revolution, and the First European Translation of Sunzi’s Art of War (1772) was published by Brill in 2019. He received an MA from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. from UCL University of London.
