Paolo Sacchi is a medical director at the Division of Infectious and Tropical Diseases, Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo. He graduated in medicine and surgery and holds other educational and professional qualifications. Specialized in infectious diseases, in 1993, he attended the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for 4 months. In 2008, he obtained a managerial training diploma in the management of a complex hospital area structure. He is a coordinator of Phase II, III, and IV clinical trial research activities on HIV–Hepatitis virus co-infection, HIV infection, and antibiotic therapy. His research interests include baseline amino acid substitutions in the NS5A ISDR; Hepatitis C; hepatocellular carcinoma; coronavirus disease 2019 in-hospital mortality; and antibiotic treatment in COVID-19 patients.
