Alfredo Caturano graduated in medicine and surgery from the
Second University of Naples (SUN) in 2016. He achieved his specialization
degree in internal medicine in 2021 at the University of Campania “Luigi
Vanvitelli”. His specialization thesis, concerning the impact of glycemic
control on cardiovascular outcomes and mortality in a cohort of patients with
type 2 diabetes mellitus in a multifactorial randomized controlled trial, was
awarded the Annapaola Braggio prize by the Italian Society of Diabetology as
the best specialization thesis on topics related to insulin resistance
discussed in 2021 in Italy. He presently serves as a Ph.D. attendant at the
University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and has been supported by multiple
grants from both Italian and European scientific societies.
Aldo Marrone is a specialist in infectious diseases and
hepatology. He is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Medical
School, University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Napoli, Italy. He Graduated
with full marks at the Medical School, University of Campania “Luigi
Vanvitelli”, in 1988 and became a specialist in infectious diseases at the University
of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” in 1992. He was a Fellow at the Liver Disease
Section, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA, from February 1994 to
December 1997. His research interests are liver diseases.
Domenico Cozzolino is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Advanced Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Campania L. Vanvitelli, Naples, Italy. Domenico Cozzolino's research interests include hypertension, atherosclerosis, blood pressure, heart failure, insulin resistance, echocardiography, cardiovascular medicine, cardiac function, internal medicine, and electrocardiography.

Ferdinando Carlo Sasso received his M.D. with honors and
Ph.D. in Metabolic Diseases and Geriatrics from The Second University of
Naples. He is currently working as a Professor in Internal Medicine at the
Department of Advanced Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Campania “Luigi
Vanvitelli”, Naples, Italy. He conducts research in internal medicine, clinical
trials, diabetology, and cardio-renal risk.
Luca Rinaldi is a Researcher in the Department of Advanced
Medical and Surgical Sciences at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”,
Naples, Italy. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Campania
“Luigi Vanvitelli”. His research interests are internal medicine, hepatology,
oncology, advanced ultrasound, steatosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
