Ingmar Wolff, MD, studied medicine in Berlin, Paris, and New York, receiving his medical degree in 2003. He graduated magna cum laude at the Charité – University Medicine Berlin in 2005 based on his doctoral thesis entitled “Real time RT-PCR of urine-based markers for the detection of bladder carcinoma”. His residency was completed at the Departments of Urology of the University Hospital Düsseldorf and the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus of the Technical University Dresden, where he was awarded the title Specialist in Urology. He continued his training in the Department of Urology at the Charité – University Medicine Berlin and specialized in medical tumor therapy in 2012. He was a consultant urological surgeon and Deputy Chief of the Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology, Carl-Thiem Hospital Cottbus in 2012-2017, additionally acting as Head of the Tumor Center Cottbus. Following surgical training on urological traumas and neuro-urology at the Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin, he is now Head of the Uro-Oncology-Section at the Department of Urology, University Medicine Greifswald. In addition to his special interest in urological surgery, Ingmar Wolff focusses on scientific activities concerning urologic malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and penile cancer. He has been involved in more than 30 vital clinical studies and has published more than 50 research articles in international journals. Finally, he has won various scientific prizes in the field.
Paula Soares is an Assistant
Professor of Biopathology at the Faculty of Medicine and coordinates the Group of Cancer Biology at the IPATIMUP-Institute
of Molecular Pathology and Immunology at the University of Porto. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology (1987), master’s degree
in Oncobiology (1993), and Ph.D. in Human Biology (1998) from the University of
Porto. Her main interests include the oncobiology of thyroid and neuroendocrine
tumors, mainly addressing thyroid cancer genetic alterations and signal
transduction molecules involved in the MAPK and mTOR pathways.
Martin Burchardt is a highly
accomplished urologist with 28 years of experience. He obtained his medical
degree from the University of Hamburg and completed his postdoctoral training
at Columbia University in New York. He has specialized in urology and currently
works at the Department of Urology at the Greifswald University Hospital in
Germany. He is known for his multidisciplinary approach to cancer care and has
been involved in the German Cancer Society certification program. His research
focuses on the development of innovative treatments for urological cancers. As
the Director and Chair Holder for the Department of Urology, he is crucial in
advancing urological care and improving patient outcomes at the Greifswald University
Hospital.
Maximilian Burger is a renowned urologist and
currently serves as a Professor of Urology and Chairman of the Department of
Urology at the Caritas-St. Josef Medical Center, University of Regensburg. He
obtained his MD from Ulm University and the University of Regensburg, where he
underwent residency training in surgery and urology from 2000 to 2005. From
2007 to 2011, he served as a Senior Physician at the Department of Urology of
Caritas St. Josef Medical Centre, University of Regensburg. He then moved to
the Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology of
Julius-Maximilians-University Medical Center, where he held the position of
Senior Physician from 2011 to 2013. He has a wealth of clinical and academic
experience in uro-oncology, with a focus on surgical and medical treatment. Since
2012, he has been a member of the national German Bladder Cancer Guideline
Panel (S3) and the Vice-Chairman of the Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer
Guideline Panel of the European Association of Urology (EAU). In 2014, he was
elected to the board of the German Society of Urology (DGU).
