Dr. Eleni Vrochidou received a Diploma degree in embedded systems, an M.Sc. degree in automatic control systems, and a Ph.D. degree in signal processing from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Greece, in 2004, 2007, and 2016, respectively. She is currently a part-time lecturer at the Department of Computer Science (IHU), International Hellenic University, where she has taught bachelor’s courses from 2005 and master’s courses from 2018 until now. As a researcher, she is a member of the Machine Learning and Vision (MLV) Research Group, where she participates in research projects. Her research interests are intelligent systems, signal processing, pattern recognition, and embedded systems. She has several publications in international scientific conferences, journals, and book chapters in her research areas.
Prof. Dr. George A. Papakostas received his Diploma, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Greece, in 1999, 2002, and 2007, respectively. He has 15 years of experience in large-scale systems design as a Senior Software
Engineer and a Technical Manager. He is the Head of the Machine Learning and Vision (MLV) Research Group. He is a tenured Full Professor with the Department of Computer Science, International Hellenic University, Greece. He has (co)authored more than 220 publications in indexed journals, international conferences, book chapters, one book (in Greek), two edited books, and six journal special issues. His publications have over 4000 citations with an H-index of 36 (Google Scholar). His research interests include machine learning, computer/machine vision, pattern recognition, and computational intelligence. Dr. Papakostas is a member of the ACM, IAENG, MIR Laboratories, EUCogIII, and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). He is a reviewer in numerous journals and conferences.
