Dr. Abraham Pouliakis is a physicist, holds a M.Sc. degree in electronics and radio-communications, and a Ph.D. degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in artificial intelligence (application of artificial neural networks in cytopathology). Since 1993, they have participated in numerous research projects on information and communication technology, artificial intelligence applied in medicine, collaborative systems, e-learning, e-health, and GIS systems (funded by national bodies, the EU, or ESA). Previous work experience includes >15 years in the private sector in the R&D departments of ICT companies. Since 2010, they have been with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and they are currently a researcher in the Second Department of Pathology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Medicine. He has over 160 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, over 200 presentations at international and Greek conferences, and has co-authored 19 book chapters. His research interests concern information and communication technology, image/signal processing, data processing, and artificial intelligence, including their applications in the field of health. Dr. Pouliakis is an active peer reviewer in more than 50 scientific journals, an associate editor for the International Journal of Reliable and Quality eHealth Care (IJRQEH) and Frontiers in Medicine, and a guest editor in the journal Children (MDPI).
