Dr. Pavel Abolmasov is a researcher at the Raymond and Beverly Sackler School of Physics and Astronomy, Tel Aviv University. He obtained his M.S. in Astronomy at the Moscow State University in 2006 and his Ph.D. in Astrophysics at the Special Astrophysical Observatory in 2009. He is currently involved in several projects, including (1) numerical simulations of relativistic shear instabilities; (2) magnetospheric accretion onto neutron stars; and (3) accretion boundary layer in X-ray binaries. His research interests are accretion onto compact objects such as neutron stars and black holes, supercritical accretion, numerical fluid dynamics, and relativistic effects in jets and accretion flows.
