Shulin Chen received his master's degree from Northwest Agricultural University in 1994. From 2007 to 2009, he studied on the job for a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Nanjing Agricultural University. In 1985, he engaged in teaching and scientific research at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Northwest Agricultural University. He was appointed as a lecturer in 1995, an associate professor in 2000, and a professor in 2013. Currently, he is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and director of the Department of Basic Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Northwest A&F University. His research areas are neuroendocrine immune regulation and the research and development of new veterinary drugs. He has published more than 120 scientific research papers (of which more than 40 were included in SCI) and 16 books and textbooks (of which he was chief editor in 9).
Prof. Dr. Jiyu Zhang is an academic with a strong background in veterinary medicine. He is a veterinary pharmacologist. He received his BA degree in veterinary medicine from Beijing Agricultural University in 1991, his MA degree in clinical veterinary medicine from Gansu Agricultural University in 1998, and his PhD in molecular veterinary pharmacology from the Quartermaster University of the People's Liberation Army in 2002. He has taken charge of more than 20 research projects from the National Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture, etc. He has participated in the development of the first-class new veterinary chemical drug quinocetone and is in charge of developing two new drugs, which have been given new drug certificates by the Ministry of Agriculture. He serves on several scientific advisory boards. He is the executive deputy director of the Key and Open Laboratory of Veterinary Pharmaceutical Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, a postscientist of the China Agriculture Research System, a standing director of the Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, a vice-chairman of the Society of TCVM of the China Veterinary Association, and the head of a research team consisting of nine staff. His research mainly focuses on veterinary pharmaceutics, pharmacology, and toxicology, including the discovery of antibacterial and antiparasitic drugs, the mechanism of drug resistance, and the screening of drug targets.
