Prof. Dr. Surash Ramanathan is a Professor at the Centre for Drug Research, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) in Pharmacology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and his Ph.D. from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He first joined the Centre for Drug Research, Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1999 as a research fellow. His core area of research is analytical chemistry and its application in preclinical and clinical studies related to natural product research and tropical medicine. He has worked on and published several novel analytical methods for assaying compounds and their applications in preclinical and clinical studies. These assay methods would be useful for drug assays of plasma samples generated from preclinical and multisite clinical studies.
