Daniela Di Lisi is a specialist in cardiovascular diseases and graduated in Medicine in 2010 from the University of Palermo. She specialized in cardiovascular diseases, in 2016, at the University Hospital “Paolo Giaccone” of Palermo. She is a member of several scientific societies: the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), and Italian Society of Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging (SIECVI). Her areas of interest are cardiovascular imaging, clinical cardiology, cardio-oncology, cardiomyopathies, and pediatric cardiology.
Giuseppe Armentaro obtained his Master's degree from the School of Medicine, University of Magna Graecia of Catanzaro (Calabria, Italy), in 2017, and his habilitation to clinical practice in 2018. He is currently a Resident in the Geriatric Unit of Mater Domini Hospital, University of Magna Graecia in Catanzaro, under the supervision of Prof. Angela Sciacqua. His areas of interest include heart failure, arterial hypertension, atrial fibrillation, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and COPD.
Martino Deidda received his Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Sciences
from the University of Cagliari, Italy. He is currently a Researcher at the
Department of Medical Sciences and Public Health, University of Cagliari. He is
a nucleus member of the Working Group of the Italian Society of Cardiology. His
expertise is in the fields of Cardiology, Heart Failure, Cardiovascular
Physiology, Cardiac Echocardiography, Cardiac Function, and Metabolomics.
Michele Correale graduated cum laude with a specialization in Cardiology with full marks and a Ph.D. in “Medical, Clinical, and Experimental Sciences” from the University Medical School of Foggia, Foggia, Italy. He holds an International Master's in “Global Clinical Research Training Program in Strategies and Opportunities for Drug Development in Heart Failure” from the University Medical School of Brescia. He attained the Italian Society of Cardiovascular Echography Accreditation for transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. He is currently working as a cardiologist at the University Hospital of Foggia, Italy. As an investigator or sub-investigator, his research goals are heart failure and pulmonary hypertension in the field of cardiovascular medicine. He is a member of the board of the heart failure working group of the Italian Society of Cardiology. He has authored over 250 articles. He is a reviewer of international journals (JACC, AHJ, Heart, Int J of Card, Eur Heart J - Card Imaging).
Angela Sciacqua received her M.D. from the University Magna
Græcia (UMG) of Catanzaro, Italy. She is currently an Associate Professor in Internal
Medicine with Full Professor habilitation at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, UMG. She has been
the Director of the Geriatric Division, Renato Dulbecco University Hospital,
Catanzaro, Italy, since 2019. She conducts research in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Cardiology, and Diabetology.
Prof. Savina Nodari is an Associate Professor of Cardiology
and Director of the Heart Failure Unit and Day Hospital of Heart Failure and
Arrhythmias at the University and Spedali Civili, Hospital of Brescia. She has completed an
internship (1982–1984) and a fellowship in Cardiology (1984–1989) at the Institute
of Cardiology, University of Brescia. She has training and expertise in
research areas that are key to heart failure prevention and post-discharge
patient management. She has particularly developed her skills in the fields of
heart failure, cardiotoxicity, cardiovascular disease management, and
telemedicine. She has been a key player in the collaboration between the
University of Brescia and Brescia’s Civil Hospital and Northwestern University
Feinberg School of Medicine Bloom Cardiovascular Institute, where she was
a Visiting Professor for 3 years. She is also a member of the Italian Society of
Cardiology, a member of the European Society of Cardiology, a member of the Italian
Society of Echocardiography, a member of the Italian Chapter of the International
Society of Cardiac Ultrasound (ICISCU), and the Chairman of the Working Group
on Ventricular Function of the Italian Society of Cardiology.
Christian Cadeddu is an Associate Professor of
Cardiology at the Department of Medical Sciences and Public Health, University
of Cagliari. He is also Chief of the Heart Failure and Cardio-Oncology Unit of
the University Hospital of Cagliari. He obtained his MD and Master’s degree in
Cardiology and his Ph.D. at the Department of Cardiovascular and Neurological
Sciences, University of Cagliari, in 1998, 2003, and 2008.
Carlo Gabriele Tocchetti is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Translational Medical Sciences, Federico II University, Naples, Italy, where he has been Director of the Internal Medicine Unit for cancer patients since 2004, and has established himself as an HF basic and clinical investigator. He is a Fellow of the HFA, Chair of the Basic Science Section and Executive Board Member of the HFA, Chair of the Study Group in Immunotherapy, ESC Council on Cardio-Oncology (CCO) President, International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS) Italy Chapter and past chair of the WG on Myocardial Function of the ESC. The main goal of his lab is to explore pathophysiologic mechanisms and therapeutic targets in cardiac dysfunction, with a particular interest in post-ischemic HF, genetic and inflammatory cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension and RV dysfunction, and HF due to antineoplastic therapies, including novel anticancer immunotherapies and biologic drugs employed in inflammatory diseases.
Alberto Palazzuoli is a well-known Italian cardiologist with vast research activity, primarily focused on heart failure treatment and the impact of comorbidities in heart failure. He is the main author of at least 160 English papers on the impact of renal dysfunction in heart failure, acute heart failure management, and the diagnostic and prognostic relevance of biomarkers in heart failure and coronary diseases. He is also involved in research activity on cardiovascular imaging and the most relevant echocardiographic parameters for risk assessment. He is credited as Vice Chair of the SIC group of Cardiac insufficiency and he is one of the researchers who coined the term “cardiorenal syndrome”. He has advanced the field of cardiorenal medicine, including randomized trials and key studies using modern measures of proteomics and metabolomics. Over the years, he has attended several recognized institutes, such as the Thorax Center Rotterdam, Northwestern University of Chicago, and Bristol Heart Institute, UK.
Valentina Mercurio is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the
Department of Translational Medical Sciences, University Federico II,
Naples, Italy. She has received a Ph.D. degree in Clinical and Experimental
Medicine from the University of Naples Federico II. Her research interests are
Internal Medicine, Echocardiography, Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cardiac Function, Clinical
Cardiology, Myocardial Infarction, Chronic Heart Failure, Cardiovascular
Medicine, Cardiac Imaging, and Cardiovascular Physiology.
