Prof. Dr. Gabriela Fernandes is a Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and
Technology, University of Coimbra, and a Researcher at CEMMPRE, CEBER and
ALGORITMI Research Centres. Her research interests are in Organizational
Project Management and Innovation Management, particularly in the
University-Industry R&D Collaboration context. She holds a Ph.D. in
Management (Southampton University, UK), a MSc in Industrial Engineering—Evaluation
and Project Management and Innovation and a Graduation in Industrial
Engineering and Management (University of Minho, PT). She spent ten years in the
coordination and management of projects in different industries. Throughout her
career, she served as an Executive Director. She developed and taught several
project management training courses and, as a consultant, coordinated the
implementation of project management systems and project management office
structures. She was the Director of the PMI Portugal Chapter and is a Project
Management Professional (PMP)® credential holder. She is the author of 30
papers published in highly ranked international journals in a total of more
than 90 publications, including the book edition “Managing Collaborative R&D
Projects: Leveraging Open Innovation Knowledge-Flows for Co-Creation”. She is
also a member of the Editorial Board of the highest-ranked journal in her
field, the International Journal of Project Management.
Prof. Dr. Luis Miguel D. F. Ferreira is a Professor of the Faculty of Science and
Technology at the University of Coimbra. He received a degree in Mechanical
Engineering in 1994 from the University of Coimbra Faculty of Science and
Technology, a Master’s degree in Operations Research and Systems Engineering in
1997 from Universidade de Lisboa Instituto Superior Técnico, and a Ph.D. in
Systems Engineering in 2005 from the Universidade de Lisboa Instituto Superior
Técnico. Before joining the University of Coimbra, he worked at the Department of Economics Management and Industrial Engineering, University of Aveiro, from 2005 to 2016. His research mainly focuses on the areas of Procurement, Supply Management and Supply Chain Management.
