Dr. Giuseppe Mazzarella is a Senior Researcher at the Istituto di Scienze dell'Alimentazione, Avellino, Italy. He received a degree with first-class honors in Biology from the University of Naples Federico II in 1990. He then obtained a Specialization in Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry from the School of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Naples Federico II in 1995. His research interest is in mucosal immunology including celiac disease, non-celiac wheat sensitivity, and inflammatory bowel disease. He is a member of the scientific committee of the European Laboratory for the Investigation of Food-Induced Diseases (E.L.F.I.D.) and the scientific committee of the European Biomedical Research Institute of Salerno (E.B.R.I.S.). He is also a member of the Editorial Board of several peer-reviewed journals, such as World Journal of Gastroenterology, Global Imaging Insights, International Journal of Molecular Sciences (Section Bioactives and Nutraceuticals), International Journal of Nutrition and Food Sciences, and Cells (Section Cellular Immunology).

Professor Antonio De Luca is a Full Professor of Human Anatomy at the School of Medicine, University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Naples, Italy. He received a Degree cum laude in Medicine and Surgery from the first Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Naples Federico II in 1991. He obtained his Ph.D. in Human and Experimental Morphology from the University of Bari in 1995. His major research projects in the last 5 years include the molecular mechanisms of helicobacter pylori pathogenesis, the pathogenic role of associated adherent-invasive Escherichia coli in Crohn’s disease, and the impact of antiretroviral drugs on ovarian cancer, bone differentiation, and liver diseases. He is the author of more than 170 publications and 270 communications presented at international and national congresses. He is also a member of the Italian Society of Anatomy and Histology, the Italian Society of Histochemistry, and is a member of The Histochemical Society.
