Dr. Tracy Baker is a Professor at the Department of Comparative Biosciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology at the University of Texas at Arlington, in 1994 and 1997, respectively. She received a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. Her research keywords include spinal homeostatic plasticity, respiratory plasticity, sleep apnea, the neural control of breathing and the impact of sleep apnea during pregnancy on the health of the adult offspring.
Dr. Jyoti J. Watters is a Professor of Pharmacology and Chair of the Department of Comparative Biosciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned a B.S. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Arizona in 1990 and received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Washington in 1997. The overall goal of her research program is to investigate how early life events reprogram resident brain macrophages (microglia) and how they consequently impact brain function and neural disease progression later in life.
Dr. Sathish Kumar is a Professor at the Department of Comparative Biosciences and Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in 2003 and earned his DVM degree at Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in 2009. The primary focus of Dr. Kumar’s research is to better understand how pregnancy complications affect vascular, metabolic, and placental function and the long-term health of babies.
