Valentina Uscatescu is a highly accomplished senior
physician in laboratory medicine and a principle research scientist Grade I in
Haematology at Fundeni Clinical Institute. She received her PhD from the Bucharest
University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2000. Her clinical and laboratory
research interests include hemostasis, fibrinolysis, and platelet pathology.
She is the Medical Director of the Romanian Association of Hemophiliacs, as
well as the Medical Director of the Romanian Society of Hemostasis and Thrombosis.
She is a member of the Romanian Society of Hematology and the European
Association of Hematology, as well as a member of the Coagulation Tests
Standardization Committee.
Irina Stoian is currently an Associate Professor at the
Department of Functional Sciences I/Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Carol
Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania. She also manages two
organizations, R&D Irist Labmed and Ira Test Consult. She holds a PhD in
Medical Biochemistry and her research interests mainly revolve around oxidative
stress, metabolism, antioxidants, electrophoresis, reactive oxygen species,
antioxidant activity, apoptosis, glucose metabolism, atherosclerosis, and
diabetes.
Adelina
Vlad is currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine,
Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania. She holds
a PhD degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and a
second PhD from the University of Bern. Adelina is a member of various reputed
societies including the Romanian Society of Physiological Sciences, International
Union of Physiological Sciences, International Society for Stem Cell Research,
Federation of European Physiological Societies, and American Physiological
Society. Adelina has received several awards for her research work and
contribution to the field of medical science. In 2019, she was awarded as the
Best Poster Communication (FEPS Annual Meeting) by the Federation of European
Physiological Societies. She also won the Third Prize of Awards for Clinical
Science from Medical International Conference for Students in 2018, and the
Second Prize of Basic Science by Medical International Conference for Students
in 2017. Adelina was awarded the Best Poster Presentation (The 55th Congress of
the Romanian Society of Cardiology) by The Romanian Society of Cardiology in
2016, and the Young Researcher Session—First Prize from The Romanian Society of
Cardiology in 2012. She also received the Special Young Investigator Award from
the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy in 2012.
Delia Codruta Popa is a researcher at the Department of
Hematology in the Fundeni Clinical Institute. She is also an Associate
Professor at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy. She received
her Medical Doctor degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Targu
Mures and earned her PhD in Medicine in 2015. Her primary area of study is
Clinical Hematology.
Professor Dr. Daniel Coriu is a renowned doctor of medical
sciences and a primary care physician in the field of Hematology. He is known
for his exceptional work in Romania and abroad. Professor Coriu is the Head of
Fundeni Hematology Discipline and Director of the Hematology and Bone Marrow
Transplant Center of the Fundeni Clinical Institute. He is also a professor at
Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy. With almost 25 years of
medical experience, he has conducted extensive research in the field of
Hematology, Molecular Biology and Onco-Hematology. His doctorate thesis and habilitation
thesis were the result of direct studies and practical work carried out in
Romania and the United States of America. Professor Coriu is the Vice-President
of the Romanian Society of Hematology and a member of the European Society of
Medical Oncology, the European Society of Hematology, the American Society of
Clinical Oncology, and the International Amyloidosis Society. He is a member of
the leadership of some national and international professional-scientific
structures, as well as the editorial boards of some specialized publications of
a high scientific and professional level.
