Laura Meléndez-Alafort is a Research Scientist
at the Veneto Institute of Oncology IOV-IRCCS, Padua, Italy. She received her
Ph.D. in Nuclear Medicine from the University of London, England in 2001, her
Master's degree in Nuclear Science and her degree in Pharmacy from the Universidad
Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico City in 1998 and 1995, respectively. She
has over 25 years of experience in radiopharmaceutical science. Her research
interests focus on the development of new radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic
and therapeutic applications in Nuclear Medicine. Her work includes the design
and synthesis of new radiopharmaceuticals, cell receptor affinity studies,
radionuclide imaging, and internal dosimetry calculations. She has authored or
co-authored more than 100 scientific publications, either as manuscripts,
reviews, or book chapters. She serves as a reviewer for several international
peer-reviewed journals and congresses.
