Antonietta Gerarda Gravina is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Precision Medicine, Division of Hepatogastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. She earned her MD and Ph.D. from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli in 2005 and 2012, respectively. She is interested in GI research in radical species and nitric oxide in chronic liver and gastrointestinal diseases, food and nutrition in digestive pathology, nutraceuticals and GI diseases.
Raffaele Pellegrino, who graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, is involved in clinical activities as a Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy practitioner at the Department of Precision Medicine, University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. Additionally, he is enrolled in a Ph.D. program in "Clinical and Experimental Medical Sciences" at the same university. He is a member of the Italian Society of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy (SIGE), European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation, Italian Group for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IG-IBD), Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED), and United European Gastroenterology. His research primarily focuses on the safety and efficacy of biologic drugs in IBD, the epidemiological stratification of patients with IBD for a tailored approach, translational studies to investigate new therapeutic targets for IBD, and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Mario Romeo has attended the Ph.D. academic course in gastroenterology at the Department of Mental and Physical Health and Precision Medicine of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli since 6 November 2020, and has been a training specialist at UOC of the University Hospital Polyclinic of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” of Naples since February 2021. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli with full marks and honors in 2020. He is also a member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver, the American Association for the Study
of Liver Diseases and the United European Gastroenterology. His research activities focus on the role of GUT microbiota in human health and disorders; the role of oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and immune system dysregulation in the liver and gastrointestinal diseases; the interplay between vasoactive peptide Urotensin II and its receptor UTR as a potential target in the management of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma; the effects of the interaction between nutrition and genetic/epigenetic factors in metabolic syndrome and relative comorbidities, as well as modern diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic approaches in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Alessandro Federico is a Full Professor at the Department of Precision Medicine, Division of Hepatogastroenterology, School of Medicine, University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. He earned his MD and a Ph.D. in Digestive and Nutritional Physiopathology from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli in 1996 and 2000, respectively. He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli beginning in 2007, an Associate Professor from 2015 to 2021, and was promoted to Professor in 2021.
Teresa Troiani is an Associate Professor at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. She received her Degree in Medicine from the University of Naples Federico II in 2000, completed her Residency in Medical Oncology at the same university in 2004, and earned her Ph.D. from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli in 2008. She became an Assistant Professor at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli in 2013. The main objective of her research is to study intracellular molecular targets relevant for the development and progression of the most frequent human cancers (colorectal cancer, lung cancer and melanoma) in order to develop selective strategies and therapeutic approaches.
