Jimil Shah is an Assistant Professor at the Postgraduate
Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in India. He earned his
Bachelor of Medicine degree from B. J. Medical College, his Doctor of Medicine
degree from GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, and another Doctor of
Medicine degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and
Research. As an academic gastroenterologist, he works as a faculty member at
PGI Chandigarh, which is a national-level referral center in North India. He is
interested in evidence-based practice in the field of therapeutic endoscopy,
and he has experience in clinical research, gastroenterology, and therapeutic
endoscopy (including ERCP, interventional EUS, and third-space endoscopy like
POEM, STER, EMR, etc.). He also mentors fellows in gastroenterology, endoscopy,
and clinical research.
Dr. Truptesh H Kothari is an Associate Professor of Medicine
in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is also the Director of the
Developmental Endoscopy Laboratory at the University of Rochester (DELUR). Dr.
Kothari obtained his medical degree from M.R. Medical College in Karnataka,
India, and a master’s degree in Clinical Sciences from the University of Texas
Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed his Internal Medicine
residency at the Mount Sinai Bronx VA program in New York City, and a Hepatology
fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He pursued his
Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
Dr. Kothari has completed interventional endoscopy training at Fox Chase Cancer
Center—Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, USA. He is specialized in
interventional endoscopic ultrasound, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP,
intraluminal stent placement, esophageal endotherapy for Barrett’s esophagus,
Achalasia, Zenker’s myotomy, and pancreatic-biliary disorders.
