Samantha A Brooks is a professor at the Department of Animal Sciences, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA.
She received her B.Sc. in Agricultural Biotechnology at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, USA in 2001, and her Ph.D. in Veterinary Science at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, USA in 2006.
She is a member of the American Society of Animal Science, the Equine Science Society, the National
Association of Equine Affiliated Academics, and the International Society of Animal Genetics.
Her research program explores a variety of topics relevant to horse health, ranging from gene expression studies to the mapping of genetic disorders.
Robin Everts, PhD, is the head of Research & Laboratory Operations at Etalon Equine Genetics and brings over 20 years of molecular and genetics experience. He graduated with an MSc. in Animal Sciences from Wageningen Agricultural University, The Netherlands in 1995. He received a PhD from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Universiteit Utrecht, The Netherlands in 2000 for his thesis on genetic research in dogs. He was a postdoc and visiting assistant professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2000-2007 doing research in embryo/fetal functional genomics in cattle. From 2007 - 2014 he worked at Sequenom Biosciences, Inc developing their overall assay portfolio and their Pharmacogenetics program. In 2014 he joined Agena Bioscience, Inc., San Diego, CA, where he led the Pharmacogenetics effort globally ( and developed the original DNA panel for Etalon Equine Genetics). He is the (co-) author of over 50 peer-reviewed papers. He is on the scientific Advisory Board of Etalon Equine Genetics and ADx Health. Robin grew up riding and loving horses in The Netherlands.
