Kausik Kapat is an assistant professor at the Department of Medical Devices, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He received his Bachelor of Pharmacy from Jadavpur University, Master of Science (Pharm.) from the NIPER Mohali, and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. His research interests are the development of customized dense and porous implants, surface modification, piezoelectric and drug-eluting devices, functional hydrogels, in vitro diagnostics (IVDs), cancer theranostics, and live cell imaging. He is a life member of the Society for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (India) (STERMI) and the Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs (India) (SABOI).

Pritiprasanna Maity has a position as a postdoctoral researcher and currently works at the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Cell Biology, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina, USA. He is a senior researcher with more than fifteen years of academic and industry research experience in stem cell, organ and organoid culture, tissue engineering, molecular cancer biology, and cellular and molecular imaging. He has completed two master’s degrees from IIT Kharagpur and Vidyasagar University; a Ph.D. from IIEST Shibpur and IIT Kharagpur, India; and a postdoc from the University of California San Diego, La Jolla, USA. He had successfully completed two industrial jobs as a scientist, as well as a PI in a stem-cell-based therapeutic company in India.
