Author Biographies

Dr. Victoria Showunmi is an Associate Professor at the UCL Institute of Education (IOE). She holds an EdD in Gender and Education from the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK. Her research interests are gender, identity, race, and class through the lens of intersectionality, focusing on identity and leadership and the lived experience of Black women and girls. Her work develops fresh conceptual frameworks focusing on equity and social justice, especially the interplay between people and the sophistication of behaviors that lead to disengagement with the promotion of equality. She has an international profile based on disseminating her research through publication and teaching. She holds an NEC Black Members Seat, which has been an exciting and humbling experience. She is also an executive member of the Gender and Education Association (GEA), Conference Chair for the British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society, and Chair of the International Studies SIG.
Dr. Fatima Younas has a first degree in Clinical Psychology and an MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from the Anna Freud Centre. She recently received her Ph.D. from University College London's Department of Clinical, Educational, and Health Psychology . Her research focused on parental risk and resilience within the context of child maltreatment. Fatima works as a lecturer and teaches psychology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Prof. Leslie Morrison Gutman is Professor of Applied Developmental and Health Psychology in the Department of Clinical, Health, and Educational Psychology and Director of the MSc Behavior Change program at University College London. She is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Adolescence and Faculty Lead of the BAME Awarding Gap Project in UCL Brain Sciences. She received her Ph.D. in the Combined Program in Education and Psychology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She has authored over 90 academic publications, including peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, chapters in textbooks, and policy reports for the government. Her research focuses on mental health and well-being: risk and resilience; and the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions for children, adolescents, and families, with a particular interest in diversity and inclusion.
