Yosra Helmy is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology at the University of Kentucky and a Research Associate at The Ohio State University. She received her M.V.Sc. at Suez Canal University and her Ph.D. at the Free University of Berlin. She is also a member of the American Society of Microbiology. Her areas of expertise include bacterial pathogens, gene expression during infection, control of foodborne bacterial pathogens, host responses (immunity) to infectious diseases, and antimicrobial resistance.
Alexander Yitbarek received his B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Asmara, Eritrea. He obtained a second B.S. in Microbiology and a M.S. in Swine Nutrition from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He then obtained his Ph.D. in Avian Immunology from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, in 2018. Following three years with Danisco Animal Nutrition as a Poultry Scientist, he joined the Department of Animal Science, University of McGill, in August 2021 as an Assistant Professor of Sustainable Poultry Production. His research program investigates the development and effectiveness of alternatives to in-feed antibiotic growth promoters in chickens. His research interests also include understanding the immune response mechanisms to various diseases in poultry, such as necrotic enteritis, coccidiosis, and influenza viruses.

Tamer Sharafeldin is an ACVP board-certified veterinary pathologist with a demonstrated history of working in veterinary diagnostic laboratories. He is now an Assistant Professor at the University of South Dakota. He received his MVSc at Zagazig University and his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on studying poultry diseases' pathogenicity, pathogenesis, and immune response.
