Dr. Luis D'Marco is a Nephrologist and clinical researcher, currently working as a professor at CEU Cardenal Herrera University and Hospital Vithas Consuelo in Valencia, Spain. Once he completed his 2-year fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, US, his Doctorate in Research and translational medicine at the University of Barcelona, and his Master’s degree in Diabetology at Alcala de Henares University in Spain, he focused his interest and research on the interaction between bone and mineral metabolism in CKD, Diabetes, Cardiorenal disease and Adiposopathy. He is a member of reputed international medical societies such as ISN, ERA-EDTA, ASN, SEN, and SLANH, among others. He published book chapters and papers in reputed and highest-impact medical journals such as Nature Reviews Nephrology, JASN, Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation, Clinical Kidney Journal, Springer textbooks, and the Oxford Textbook of Clinical Nephrology.
Ana Checa-Ros (MD, PhD) is a lecturer in medicine at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (Valencia, Spain). Her research interests were originally focused on the search for new non-pharmacological therapies for inflammation-based chronic diseases in children. She gained experience in clinical trials after collaborating in the H2020 European-funded DYNAHealth research project and after coordinating (as PI) a clinical trial carried out at the Birmingham Children's Hospital during her postdoc fellowship at Aston University (Birmingham, UK). At present, she is a member of the emerging research group on Cardiorenal & Metabolic Diseases at CEU Cardenal Herrera University, together with Dr D'Marco.
