Masud Rana Rashel earned his doctorate in Earth and Space Sciences from the University of Évora in July 2018. Prior to that, he obtained a master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from United International University in Bangladesh in 2014 and 2008, respectively. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Daffodil International University in Bangladesh and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Évora, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Lab, funded by UniversaPulsar LDA. His research interests include renewable energy, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) within the engineering and natural sciences domains.

Dr. A. K. M. Kamrul Islam is an investigational and experimental computer scientist in the fields of data mining, machine learning, and computational biology and works as an Associate Professor at the College of Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. Dr. Islam holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia State University, an MPH in Computing and Informatics from Bournemouth University, and a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Jahangirnagar University. Dr. Islam’s research interests include the design and implementation of machine learning and deep learning algorithms for biomedical image processing and bioinformatics gene expression processing.
Prof. Dr. Mouhaydine Tlemçani completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2007 from the University of Évora and his Master's in Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics in 1992 from Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. He is currently a Professor of Mechatronics’ Engineering at the University of Évora. He is the founder and head of the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Control at the Institute of Earth Sciences (ICT). His current research interests include photovoltaic systems, energy, electrical measurements, digital image processing, signal processing, and nonlinear systems.
