Yunxiao Wei is a Professor at the Biotechnology Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. She completed her Ph.D. in plant breeding (2019) at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing. Her current interest is focused on cotton transformation and molecular breeding of Cotton. She has 24 publications with 144 citations and an h-index of 7 (Scopus, 1 December 2023).
Edwin Wang is a Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Calgary. He is also a Child Health and Wellness Researcher at the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute and a Member of the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute. He received his B.S. and M.S. in plant biology from Tianjin University in 1986 and 1989, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in molecular genetics at the University of British Columbia in 2002. After one year of postdoc training at Flybase, a genome database of flies, he moved to NRC as a PI. In 2016, he became an AISH Chair Professor at the University of Calgary. His areas of research focus on bioinformatics; genomics and proteomics; cancer; and model organisms.
Zhigang Meng is an Associate Researcher at the Biotechnology Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree at Northwest A&F University in 2002 and 2005, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology at the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2012. He was an Assistant Researcher at the Biotechnology Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (2008–2015), and was promoted to Associate Researcher in 2016. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary (2016–2017). He won the 2015 second-class prize National Science and Technology Progress Award, the 2015 China Agricultural Science and Technology Award Outstanding Innovation Team Award, and the 2010 first-class prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shandong Province.
Rui Zhang is currently a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Biotechnology Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. She received her M.Sc. from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1998 and her Ph.D. in 2001. Her research focuses on cotton genetic engineering. Her scientific output includes 110 publications, corresponding to 1801 citations (h-index 21) (Scopus, 5 December 2023).
