Prof. Julian Estevez is an Associate Professor specializing in robotics, UAVs, control systems and machine learning at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU and a researcher in the Group of Computational Intelligence of the same institution. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Navarra (Spain) and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of the Basque Country. He has taken part in different industrial and academic projects.
Gorka Garate is an Industrial Engineer in Mechanics (Universidad de Navarra, 1990) with a PhD in Applied Mechanics (UPV/EHU, 2004). From 1990 to 1991, he worked at Andersen Consulting in the development of software. Since 1991, he has been a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Engineering, Gipuzkoa. His research interests are Mathematical Modelling, Artificial Intelligence in Robotic Systems, Image Processing and Numerical Methods.
Jose Manuel Lopez-Guede received his M.Sc. degree in 1999 and his Ph.D. in 2012, both in Computer Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain. From 2000 to 2004, he worked
at an Industrial Informatics company. Since 2004, he has been working at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain. He is in the Systems Engineering and Automatic Control Department at the University College of Engineering of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. Since 2010, he has been the Coordinator of the Bachelor in Industrial Electronic Engineering and Automatics degree program at the Basque Country University. He is also an advisor at the National Distance Education University of Spain. His teaching areas are Electronics and Computer Science, and he was the coordinator of two granted
projects in Educational Innovation. He has participated in Erasmus actions (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) and has been an investigator in 40 competitive projects. He is a co-author of more than 250 papers, with more than 50 in the field of Educational Innovation and the remainder in specific research areas: he has more than 80 ISI JCR publications and more than 25 in other journals, with the remainder in chapters and conferences. He has belonged to more than 15 organizing committees of several international conferences and to more than 15 scientific committees. His research interests are robotics and computational intelligence techniques applied to different areas.
Mikel Larrea M. Eng., Ph.D, received his M.Eng degree in Systems Engineering and Automation at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2006 and his Ph.D in System Engineering and Automation at the University of the Basque Country in 2014. Currently, he works as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of Gipuzkoa. His research topics mainly include Intelligent Control, Nonlinear Control, Neural Network Identification, and Robotics.
