Dr. Akbar Sheikh-Akbari
is an Associate Professor (Reader) in the School of Built Environment, Engineering, and Computing at Leeds Beckett University. He has a BSc (Hons), MSc(distinction), and PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. After completing his PhD at Strathclyde University, he joined Bristol University to work on an EPSRC project in stereo/multi-view video processing. He continued his career in the industry, working on real-time embedded video analytics systems. His main research interests include biometric identification techniques, color constancy techniques, image source camera identification, hyperspectral image processing, standard and non-standard image/video codecs, e.g., H.264 and HEVC, multiview image/video processing, image resolution enhancement methods, assisted living technologies, compressive sensing, camera tracking using retro-reflective materials, and signal processing.

Dr. Anatoliy Gorbenko
is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing, Creative Technologies and
Engineering. He is also a Visiting Professor with the Department of Computer
Systems, Networks and Cybersecurity at the National Aerospace University of
Ukraine. He received his M.Eng. in computer engineering in 2000 and his Ph.D. in
computer science in 2005 from the National Aerospace University, Kharkiv,
Ukraine. He completed his D.Sc. habilitation and obtained a professorship with
the Department of Computer Systems and Networks in 2012. From 2014 to 2016, he
was Dean of the Aircraft Radio-technical Faculty and led the Service-Oriented
Systems Dependability research group. In 2017 he joined the School of
Computing, Creative Technologies & Engineering at Leeds Beckett University,
UK. Dr. Gorbenko has a solid mathematical and engineering background and
extensive experience in probability and stochastic process theories,
experimental data analysis, and optimization techniques. His expertise includes
dependability and performance of distributed systems, SOA and clouds; SW
vulnerability and intrusion tolerance.
Dr. Iosif Mporas received the Diploma (5-years) and Ph.D. degrees in
electrical and computer engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in
2004 and 2009, respectively. He is currently a Reader in signal processing and
machine learning (Associate Professor) at the University of Hertfordshire, UK.
He has participated in more than ten EU-funded research and development
projects as a researcher, a senior researcher, and a principal investigator. He
has authored or co-authored more than 150
papers in international journals and conferences cited more than 1,050 times (Scopus,
November 2023). His research interests include applications of signal
processing and machine learning. He serves as a reviewer of grant applications,
a reviewer of international journals, and a program committee member in
international conferences, while he was the General Chair of the Joint
SPECOM/ICR 2017 Conference and the Technical Chair of the ICESF 2020 Conference.
