Dr. Adrián Hernández-Díazcouder is an associate researcher of Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social, Hospital de Especialidades “Dr. Bernardo Sepúlveda Gutiérrez”, Unidad de Investigación Médica en Bioquímica. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Experimental Biology at Metropolitan Autonomous University and a Master of Science in Pharmacology at the National Polytechnic Institute. His research interests include PCR, Western blot analysis, RNA isolation, microRNA, adipose tissue, insulin resistance, metabolism, etc.
Dr. Enrique Hong is a professor at the Department of Pharmacology of CINVESTAV-IPN. He studied for a degree in Medical Surgeon at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, obtaining the degree in 1960. In 1984, he received a doctorate in Sciences at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). Among the topics investigated by him are the discovery and characterization of new drugs, the study of adrenergic agonist and antagonist effects, the release of nitric oxide and blockade of calcium entry by metoprolol and new analogs, the pharmacological effects of indorenin related to its action on the 5-HT1A receptor, the increase in blood pressure induced by hyperglycemia, and the role of nitric oxide in blood pressure homeostasis, among others.
